After 20 years as an HR professional, she experienced firsthand the toll of constant responsibility, stress, and putting herself last. That journey led her to helping others, and to create her podcast, The She Ascends Circle Lounge, a supportive space where women feel seen, restored, and empowered to rise without losing themselves. She is on a mission to help women live and lead from alignment and joy. She lives in the Atlanta suburb in Fairburn, Georgia.
My For most of my life, I was the strong one. The dependable one. The one everyone could count on. I was managing my career, caring for my mom, and carrying responsibilities that never seemed to end. Every day felt like a marathon mentally, emotionally, and physically. I was constantly pouring into everyone else, and slowly, without realizing it, I had stopped pouring into myself.
I tried to push through. I tried to rest. I tried therapy, and even medication, and those things helped for a while. But deep down, I knew something was still missing. I didn’t just need relief. I needed restoration.
Everything began to change the moment I made one decision: I chose myself. I started going to bed earlier, which improved my sleep and allowed me to wake up feeling rested instead of depleted. I stopped skipping meals and began nourishing my body with foods that gave me energy and strength. I made time for daily walks and bike rides, creating space to breathe and release stress instead of constantly pushing through it. I set boundaries around my time and stopped overextending myself, and I incorporated moments of stillness, meditation, and reflection into my routine. These small but intentional changes helped me feel less burned out, more energized, and strong enough to fully show up for my career, my family, and myself without sacrificing my well-being.
For the first time in a long time, I didn’t feel like I was just surviving—I felt like I was living.
